Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum

Musée de la Nature et des Sciences à Sherbrooke (MNS2) is a small museum at the heart of Sherbrooke City in Estrie. We visited the museum on a rainy day and the kids enjoyed and learned about wildlife and geology in a fun way. During our visit, there were two main attractions, the AlterAnima exhibition, and the Terra Mutantès multimedia show, both interactive.

Drive East for about 1h45 from Montreal

Opening time: September 3, 2019, to June 21, 2020, from Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 5pm, from June 22 to September 7, 2020, open every day from 9am to 6pm.

Entry fees (2019): adult 18-54: $13, children 4-17: $9, kids under 3 go free. A family option (2 adults and 2 children): $39.

About Sherbrooke:

The city is located at the confluence of the Saint-François and Magog rivers in the heart of the Eastern Townships region. Known as the city of students, there are several higher education institutes in the area.  One of the main attractions is the city’s 16 large murals with 2 circuits around town to admire it.

Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum tips:

  1. As soon as you arrive, check with the staff the time for the next Terra Mutantès multimedia activity. There are several shows per day. The show is about the geology history of the region.
  2. Ask at the reception for a tablet for the AlterAnima exhibition.

AlterAnima exhibition – A large exhibition of 500 species with an interactive game for kids using the museum’s tablet. The kids need to search for the animals, look for hints and answer questions.
