Hurry up, only a few days left for pumpkin picking at this great farm (a family-owned business in L’Assomption since 1790), 40 minutes north from Montreal. The activities for kids include a tractor ride, a playing area with lots of different bicycles, a huge pile of hay with bridges to climb on and a small farm with cows.

Opening time: The shop is open 7/7, from the beginning of the asparagus season in May, until the end of the self-picking of pumpkins on October 31st. Thursday to Saturday 08:00-18:00, Sunday to Wednesday 08:00-17:00.
Pick-your-own squashs and pumpkins on weekends and holidays from 9am to 5pm. End of self-picking season, 31st of October (2018).
During the summer the farm is offering strawberry picking as well, check website for exact dates.

Once you park the car, head to the shop or to the small kiosk (near the field) to pay the entry fee. A tractor will drive you from the entrance to the field. We decided to walk to towards the hay playing area and took the tractor from there to the pumpkin field.
Take a wheelbarrow, choose your pumpkins and head back to the tractor to return to the entrance. Pumpkins price goes by their size. The kids enjoyed the small playing area, while we were visiting the shop with local products.
